Zella Leggings: Worth the Splurge?

We finally made it, it's Friday! I am happy to say that my August goals are going really well so far with the exception of Starbucks - hah but I'm trying so that has to count for something! During the Nordstrom Sale last month, I picked up some new leggings to try out - Zella Live In High Waisted Leggings. I had heard great things about them in regards to their comfort and quality of fabric. I first got them in this burgundy color and after I tried them on, I quickly ordered them in black as well. So now here I am after just one week of wearing them and I am OBSESSED!

I started going to Orange Theory Fitness last week and I thought this would be the perfect time, or rather place, to test these bad boys out. If you haven't been to Orange Theory, then let me give you a little rundown of what the classes entail. The general idea behind Orange Theory is to keep your heart rate in the orange zone, or 85-90% of your maximum heart rate, in order to continue burning calories for up to 36 hours following exercise. The 1 hour class itself consists of interval training with treadmills, rowing machines, and weights. It is very fast paced but it feels more like working out with a trainer than it does a regular fitness class you may find at a typical gym. You can try a class for free if there is one near you and highly recommend it if so!

From those class details, you can gather that there was a whole lot of up, down, side to side moving in these leggings. Guess what? They live up to the hype! I didn't have to pull these up not even once. Every other pair of leggings that I have tried end up slipping down at some point and no one wants to be messing with their clothes when working out!

The fabric is breathable and stretchy but have no fear your booty will not be peeking through! I have hips, a booty, and some post-volleyball player thighs so trust me I wouldn't lie about such things. There is nothing worse then getting ready to go work out or even run errands and hearing your boyfriend describe your underwear to you since he can see right through those thin leggings! So happy it didn't happen with these and that I don't feel like I'm wearing heavy fleece lined leggings.

The length is perfect for my short little legs. I'm 5'4'' but legs feel more like the length of someone who is 5'2" (I'm all torso). There is still length left at my ankle so you girls blessed with height have room! I honestly wasn't sure how I'd feel about wearing high-waisted leggings but they didn't bother me at all. They hit right above my navel and don't seem to stretch out at the waist with all my movements.

{insert a whole lot of insecurities here}

My overall impression of these leggings? Get them right now! I promise you these are worth the splurge! They have some gorgeous light blue ones on sale right now with limited sizes at Nordstrom. I will continue buying these leggings since they can make it through high intensity work outs! Since I'm just starting at Orange Theory, I will probably check in later this month to give you an update on how I'm liking and what my results have been so far!

Next week I am going to try my best to crank out a new recipe for you lovely people. "Try my best" being the key phrase as next week is quite hectic! I will be travelling to celebrate my mother's retirement back in Northern Oklahoma as well as taking Holly, my Boston Terrier, to have cancer removed from her leg (fingers crossed for her). Have a beautiful weekend everyone!

  7. It is very hard to find leggings that don't need a yank upwards at some point in my workout. I love that these are higher wasted, that's hard to find nowadays.
