Beer Bread | 4 Simple Ingredients

We are already a week into September, like whaaaatt?! With September comes football and tailgating and fall and happiness! Isn’t it great how September starts with a 3-day holiday weekend? And what a great long weekend it was! To start off my weekend, I ended up winning a giveaway from Fit Chick Next Door that I'm pretty excited about AND scored free tickets to the Rangers baseball game Friday night. The seats came with all you can eat food and drinks, which was perfect since the game ended up being one of the longest running 9 inning games in MLB history at 4 hours and 34 minutes. It was crazy long so plenty of snacks were enjoyed!

Since it was a long weekend and I had some well needed free time, I knew it would be the perfect time to whip together some yummy food to enjoy before Just Brandi’s Dietbet started yesterday. (BTW there is still time to join and have a chance to win cash prizes, a Fitbit, Lululemon gift cards, etc.) Now I just get to live vicariously through these scrumptious pictures and dream of the carb ridden cheat day I will enjoy this weekend when we head to see the Rangers take on the Yankees!

I'm sorry that it has been quite some time since I posted a recipe for you! This is one of my favorite recipes of my mother’s making it the perfect comeback/fall/easy/AHMAZING recipe to kick off this month with! It is the perfect addition to a meal instead of rolls or for an afternoon snack. We even used the remaining few slices with gravy for breakfast, which was quite yummy and filling too! I can't wait to use it with some chili or potato soup when it gets cooler out (Wahoo fall!). And never fear about getting tipsy on this bread, almost all of the beer bakes out. It is really just used as a fermentation component since no actual yeast is used.

This bread recipe only requires 4 ingredients that you probably already have in your house, which means it should be super easy for you to put together. In our house, we enjoyed it with some Boursin cheese because well frankly, I just love that stuff plus the density of the bread pairs so well with garlicky cheese! It also pairs great with fruit spreads like my favorite, Mango Guava & Passion Fruit preserves - great for PB&Js!

Beer Bread
3 cups self rising flour
3 T sugar
12 oz beer
1/4 cup butter, melted

1) Preheat the oven to 350. Grease 9x5 loaf/bread pan and set aside.
2) Combine together flour, sugar, and beer. Spread into bread pan.
3) Bake for 40-45 minutes. Remove from oven and pour melted pour over the top of the bread, bake for 10 minutes more.
4) Slice and enjoy!

Didn't I tell you that it was easy? I think this may have been the shortest recipe I've shared to date. Now you can make this carb-y goodness anytime you want! Eat it as is or pair with fruit or cheese spreads! This bread would be great for work or football "home-gating" parties. Now excuse me while I drool over these pictures and eat a salad, le sigh. And don't worry everyone, I will be bringing some more recipes to you this month!
